The Open Championship ( also known as the British Open )
is the oldest of the four major championships in men's golf.
It is the only major held outside the USA. The Open's prize money
was consistently the least of the four majors; since 2002 it has been
the highest. The world’s leading golfers will be at Royal Birkdale in
July to compete for golf’s oldest and most coveted trophy – The Claret Jug.
There won’t be a shortage of special memories. Emotions are let loose
when legends and near legends pass each other on golf’s world stage.
Thousands of spectators (often called the most knowledgeable in the world)
will flock to see their favorite players in action. You could be one of them.
